Blood on the Leaves Filmed in the raw stillness of Namibia, this piece from AZÉ: A Zodiac Èxperience is rooted in reverence. My body was adorned in Otjize, the sacred red clay worn by the Himba people to protect and preserve. Ericke Tjiueza, a descendant of the Himba tribe, applied it to my skin with care. I was also bleeding—on my period—and every tree trunk I touched absorbed part of me. Earth and body merged. We didn’t know where the Otjize ended and my blood began. It was sacred. It was serendipity. I became part of Namibia that day—unfiltered, unhidden, whole.
